What is psychoeducation?

Psychoeducation is a discipline that specializes in the prevention and intervention in the field of psychosocial adjustment difficulties. While primarily working with youth, psychoeducators intervene with people of all ages.

Psychoeducation aims to bring out the strengths and full potential of an individual or family in order to restore their well-being. Our services are for individuals who are experiencing behavioral and emotional difficulties. In addition, psychological support is also offered.

Helping children and families thrive is my passion. I look forward to sharing positive tools that will help and also encourage you to reach your goals.

How can psychoeducation help you?

There are times in our lives when we lose our sense of well-being. Our personal or family life may feel overwhelming. To restore peace and harmony, it is good and often necessary to take a step back. We can then examine the needs and focus on the objectives. Psychoeducation uses a goal oriented approach which uses a person’s strengths and that of their environment.  Working together will encourage positive results towards achieving a peaceful balance.

Support for you and your child

With a fresh perspective, you will gain the confidence to better understand your child. Together we will find solutions for any problem.

  • Parenting support

    Strategies to encourage positive development

Each consultation will provide effective parenting strategies that will encourage you, as well as bring harmony and peace into your home.

  • Observations & Recommendations

    An ecosystemic approach

When a child is experiencing adjustment difficulties, observing them in their environment allows us to determine their functioning in their daily routines to better understand them. Observations may take place at daycare and / or at home. Following the observations, a detailed report will be written and will include recommendations for the parents and educators.

  • Psychoeducational Assessment

    Screening and assessing adjustment difficulties

A psychoeducational assessment of a child not yet admissible to preschool education who shows signs of developmental delay, will help determine the different services which can be offered.

  • Intervention Plans

    Personalized plan to achieve success

Each intervention plan explains the steps and includes those persons able to help support and guide the child towards success. This usually involves the parents, other family members, educators, or professionals whenever necessary. Plans are revised as needed.

Support for children and families

Children with ADHD can at times lose control easily. They can be impulsive, and you may feel they lack self-control. These are also known as self-regulation skills. The good news is that they can be improved through positive family support and guidance. In addition, there are different types of approaches: those that can prevent a crisis from happening and those that will allow us to guide and support.
